Non-Academic:
- 2020/2022: Founded my first enterprise, Hanafi Corporation. This venture tapped into the nascent luxury street-wear market. Broadly, luxury is perceived as exclusive access. Historically, brands created this exclusivity through high pricing. Yet, brands like Nike and Adidas disrupted this by creating scarcity via limited quantity, either through raffles or a "first-come, first-served" approach. My company utilized this new paradigm in three ways:
- - Sybil the raffles: employing scripts to automate entry for higher chances of securing items.
- Sybil the FCFS: utilizing scripts to automate the entire purchase process.
- Capitalizing on arbitrage opportunities between Asia and Europe. I noticed differential preferences across continents. By importing styles unpopular in Asia and reselling them in Europe (where they were popular), I could realize significant margins.
- 2020/2022: Part of the founding team of BabaFinder, a platform offering access to scraped data to individuals and businesses. Left an active role in 2022 (When I left, BabaFinder had about 1000 monthly customers (~30k MRR, and now it has 2000.) Website | Instagram
- 2021/2022: Co-founded SoonToWear, envisioned to be France's first 100% automated street fashion marketplace. Aside from its automation, it promised frictionless experiences for both sellers and buyers. Despite significant progress and interest from business angels and securing advantageous partnerships with MangoPay and DHL, personal challenges faced by one co-founder and unfavorable market conditions caused the project to stall. However, the experience was invaluable. A look on the project | Project White Paper
